Valentine’s Gifts Under R450

It’s officially the month of love – happy February everyone! Today’s Valentine’s Day gift guide is for those of us who are on a bit more of a budget.

February always seems to be such an incredibly busy and expensive month for Dan and I, and so we usually decide on a budget for Valentine’s gifts – once I made the grand announcement that the gifts should be homemade, I regretted that in a very big way!

More economical Valentine’s gifts don’t have to be boring or disappointing, keep reading for some ideas…

Valentine’s Day gifts for her

First up are some Valentine’s gift ideas for her:

1. Footed Multi Tone Planter (90) – This is a perfect gift for someone who loves to decorate their home. The multi-tone ribbed finish gives the planter a rustic touch and I really can’t imagine a potted plant that wouldn’t look gorgeous housed in this planter.

    2. Glass Tumbler and Straw (R150) – Look, even though I have about 54 travel mugs, I can never resist the urge to pick up another one, especially if it’s as cute as this one. If you’re on the lookout for a gift for a lady on the run, this is it!

    3. Essence “Valentines – Who Cares” Liquid Lipsticks (R78) – This collection from Essence has received rave reviews and these liquid lipsticks in particular look like surefire winners. Super affordable and super pigmented – these baby’s ticks all the boxes.

    4. LUSH Melt Sensual Strawberry Scenter (R145) – If these ingredients don’t appeal to you, I don’t know what will: jasmine, juicy strawberry, and uplifting lime combine to create a fun, inviting environment to put you at ease.

Remember, if you don’t have a LUSH store near you, you can shop to your hearts desire (in your pajamas with crazy unbrushed hair) online over here.

    5. Wild Lemon Grass Scented Soy Candle (R324 on sale) – I don’t think I know a woman who doesn’t love scented candles. Whether they are used to freshen up the lounge, aid relaxation when you have a long soak in the tub or just add that extra bit of something to a shelf; they are definitely one of the best gifts to receive.

And now Valentine’s Day gift ideas for him:

    6. Woolworths Chuckles Melted Puffs (R95 for 250g) – There is just something about Chuckles, once you start, you literally cannot stop eating them. I think any man would be chuffed to receive this tin of deliciousness, and you know what they say – the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach…

    7. Rosetta Roastery Coffee Beans – Indonesia (R240 for 250g) If the man you’re on a gift hunt for is a coffee snob then these medium roast coffee beans from Rosetta Rosatery will be right up his alley. With a touch of caramel notes, you will probably find yourself asking him to make you a cup of Joe as well!

    8. Le Creuset Cappuccino Mug 350ml (R380) – Why not add a snazzy mug to go with his fancy new coffee? Le Creuset cappuccino mugs are definitely a favorite of ours at home: they are the perfect size and come in a bunch of different colours.

    9. The Body Shop Root and Aloe Shaving Cream (R250) – This would be a great addition to any man’s shaving arsenal. The skin is left smooth, moisturized, and lightly scented after use.

    10. Billfold Wallet – A classic billfold wallet with enough interior pockets to keep all his change and other essentials safe and sound. What more does a man need in a wallet?
