I Put the Avon True Power Stay Range to the Test

Here’s the thing, my days are busy; sometimes with meetings and work-related tasks, and sometimes I spend 12 hours running after kids. In all this, I like to look and feel my best but I also don’t have the time to reapply lipstick every 2 hours or touch up my foundation. When the new Avon True Power Stay range landed on my doorstep it sounded amazing, the answer to my problems!

This new offering from Avon is said, as its name would suggest, to have an incredible staying power. In fact, the foundation promises 24 hour wear and the lipsticks to last for 16 hours. Now, I’m not about to wear my make up for 24 hours but if it can stay put on my face all day then I will be one happy gal! But lets chat about each of the products individually shall we?

Avon True Power Stay Foundation

Available in 15 shades, this liquid foundation promised a matte finish and 24 hour wear. It is also said to be waterproof, sweatproof, humidity-proof and will stay put during hot days.

I found the True Power Stay foundation really easy to apply – it blended brilliantly and in no time at all. I would call the finish more semi-matte, and it did get every so slightly oily on my T-zone towards the end of the day but that seems to be the case with most foundations and my skin. The foundation didn’t feel at all heavy and was really comfortable to wear, in fact it’s the only foundation that I’ve been reaching for since doing the wear test.

Avon True Power Stay Lip Colour

This was the product that I was most excited to try, because a really good long-wearing lip colour is life-changing. Avon describes the True Power Stay lip colour as a creamy, long-wear, 100% matte colour that will last for 16 hours. It also promises no fading cracking or smudging.

Here are (unedited) swatches of the different shades available:

As you’ll see in the wear test video below, the lip colours are incredibly pigmented, all I needed was one swipe with the applicator. After application, the product was tacky on my lips for about 5 mins but after that it dried down completely and was quite comfortable to wear throughout the day.

I’ve been wearing the nude shades as well and they are lovely. The only drawback is that they are quite difficult to remove. I’ve found that the best thing to use is an oil-based product, and then a micellar water to remove the last little bits.

Right, now you know all about the products and a few of my thoughts, but how do you think the Avon True Power Stay foundation and lip colour last throughout the day? I put the products to the long-wear and smudge-free test and filmed it all for you in this YouTube video below:

What do you think? Will the Avon True Power Stay products be sitting on your dressing table soon?
