Remember back in the good ol’ blogging days, every month there would be a favourites post? I used to devour those, they were always so fun, full of info and I loved finding hidden beauty gems through them. I’m not sure why they kind of faded away but I reckon it’s time they make a comeback.

So let’s go through some of my current favourites… yes, including my new holy grail hair product.
Kerastase Genesis Blow Dry Fluid
Guys, this has changed my life when it comes to hair care. My hair is frizzy and I have a lot of it so washing and styling it is truly the bain of my life. I picked up this blow dry fluid and not only has it cut my styling time in half, I’m using less heat on my hair which is always a plus.
After washing and a quick towel dry, I spray some of the product in my hair and give it a comb through. Then I simply use my paddle brush (nothing fancy, just a no-name baby) and very ancient hair dryer to dry my hair. It literally takes me 10 minutes and leaves my hair soft and straight. What an absolute win!
Frizzy girls will know. I don’t apply anything to my hair afterwards but if it’s looking a bit poofy the next day (as blow-dried hair can), I just pop a tiny bit of hair oil to the midlength.
The Kerastase Genesis Blow Dry Fluid is actually formulated for those who have weakened hair so you’re getting an added benefit of strengthening. It’s not a cheap product by any means but my word it is so worth it and I would happily buy another one when my current one is all up.
LUSH Mimosa Shower Gel
A great smelling shower gel is heaven for me; citrussy and zesty for morning showers and more soft and herbaceous for evening showers. I’ve had the LUSH Mimosa Shower Gel for a few weeks and it is fabulous.
It’s made with a blend of mimosa flowers and fresh orange and really gives you that wake up and go feeling when using it. It’s part of a limited edition range so if you’re keen on giving this one a try, I’d say pick one up sooner rather than later.
Beaut Posh Wash
We love a South African brand doing great things, and Beaut is just that. They gained popularity with their gorgeous face serums (dying to try face juice!) and have recently launched their first cleanser; Beaut Posh Wash. I’ve been using it for just over a month now and it’s become my go to cleanser to use in the evening.
Posh Wash is a gentle cream cleanser that is enriched with squalene, aloe, wheat amino acids and oat extracts. The combination of ingredients work beautifully together to gently but effectively cleanse the skin (it removes make up brilliantly) without disturbing the moisture level.
My skin hasn’t ever felt tight or dry after using Posh Wash, it feels clean, soft to the touch and moisturised. Also, good to know, Beaut products are not tested on animals and are plant-based.
Skin Creamery Shower Oil
Another local brand, doing the most! I’ll be honest, it took me a while to fall in love with this product but I’m well and truly head over heels now.
The Skin Creamery Shower Oil is an in shower, wet skin moisturizer. Personally, I prefer to use it once I’m out the shower, depending on my mood, I’ll either apply it directly to my skin or every now and then, I add a few pumps to a plain moisturizer.
Guys, I cannot describe how gorgeous the scent of this product is. It’s earthy and herby with cypress oil (to stimulate lymphatic drainage), basil (to soothe and calm the skin) and baobab oil (to maintain a healthy skin barrier). If you’re looking to add some functional luxury to your body care, this is the product to do it with.

The Tan Lab Gradual Tan
Pale girlies, you’ll love this! Self tanning is a tricky business, and while I manage to get it right most times, I’ve really started to enjoy using The Tan Lab Gradual Tan.
I took it with when we went to Mauritius in May to top up my tan as it started to fade and it works wonders. Its more pigmented than your normal gradual tans I’ve found and after about 2 or 3 days of application, you have a beautiful colour.
It’s a lot more user-friendly, especially if you’re a self-tan newbie. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a fair skin tone, but if having a bit of a tan makes you feel more confident, then this is a product that you should definitely try out.

I’m going to cap this favourites post at 5 because if left to my own devices, I could go on and on and on. Although I am going to quickly say, honourary favourites mention has to also go to the Loreal Telescopic Lift mascara and the Loreal True Match Plumping Tinted Serum, you know I’ve been obsessed with those two for a solid amount of time.
