Five Favourites: Products in My Shower

Oh hi! It’s been a hot minute since I put up a blog post, something that at the beginning of this year I committed to doing once a week, so that’s working out really well… Anyway, here we are and to get back into the swing of things, I thought I’d do an old school “Five Favourites Friday”… but not on a Friday. So just a Five Favourites really. I think I might make this a fortnightly feature, what do you think? I personally love to read quick little reviews so if you do too I think you will love this blog post!

So, want to know what’s in my shower and which products Dan and I actually share? Keep on reading!

Bioderma Atoderm Ultra Nourishing Shower Cream: Both Dan and I suffer from really dry skin in winter and to make matters worse, neither of us like to use body lotion. This shower cream from Bioderma has been such a game changer for us, it keeps our skin nourished, protected and way more moisturised than previous years when we weren’t using an in shower product specifically for dry and sensitive skin. I really enjoyed that there was still some lather with this shower cream and Dan is all about that 2-in-1 life so he is chuffed with the fact that he can use it on both his body and his face. Also good to know that this Bioderma product is safe for the whole family to use (except for premature infants) and is available in both a 500ml and 1l bottle. Keep an eye open at Clicks, Bioderma is often on 3 for 2.

LUSH Sleepy Shower Gel: One of my all time favourites for sure, a before bedtime treat. While it’s definitely not a budget in shower product, it is worth it’s weight in gold for sure, in fact I think this is my third or forth bottle that I’m about to crack open. With oat milk to nourish and lavender and ylang ylang to ease your mind, this is one of the products I turn to when I’m in need of a good nights sleep or to help my mind to ease down. It’s more of a shower cream than a gel, but it does have a bit of a micro foam to it and if used with a loofah, a little goes a long way. If you want to double up on the benefits, it’s also available as a lotion.

Oway Frequent Use Shampoo and Conditioner: I’ll admit, this has been in my “to use” drawer for a while but now that I’ve finally started to use it, I love it! Dan and I both use the shampoo (or hair & scalp bath as Oway calls it), he uses it every second day and I use it once every 7-10 days (yes, that’s how often I wash my hair). It has the most amazing zesty fresh scent thanks to the essential oil combo of lemon, orange, grapefruit and pepper and when using it, it gives you that tingling clean feeling on your scalp. In terms of the conditioner, I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s a lightweight product and so initially I didn’t think that it would be nourishing enough for my hair, but I was pleasantly suprised; my hair feels hydrated without being weighed down after using this conditioner. Both products are packaged in glass amber pump bottles (bottles with aluminium caps are also available), are synthetic fragrance, phthlate, SLES/SLS, cruelty and paraben free. It’s become a little difficult to find this product recently but contact details are available on their Instagram page.

Tangle Teezer: I’m pretty confident that most of you know about the Tangle Teezer, I had kind of forgotten about mine until I was doing a good clean out of my product drawers. Because it’s all plastic, it’s perfect to keep in the shower and ridiculously easy to clean too. The two-tiered regular-flex teeth slide through my knotty hair after washing and leave it tangle free without any breakage. I use the original but there is also a Thick & Curly one available.

Kiehl’s Calendula Foaming Wash: When it comes to cleaners I like them plain, simple and hard working… which this one is. Gel cleansers can often leave dehydrated skins feeling stripped, but I’ve found this one from Kiehl’s. When applied to damp skin, it becomes a micro-foam and lifts make up and impurities off of my skin easily. You also don’t need a lot at all, one small pump is more than enough and so this 230ml bottle lasts an absolute age.

I do need to give a special shout out to my gorge Turkish towel from The Cotton Company. These specially woven towels are so versatile; beach, bath, picnic, chic accessory and of course, they are just so gorgeous. I was chatting to Madeline the owner of The Cotton Company and she was telling me that they get softer with every wash, how amazing? They have an incredibly large range that you can shop online; I am all heart eyes about the Waffle Collection.

So friends, what’s on your shower shelf?
