what’s in our hospital bags, part one – baby’s bag

Look, I’m a pretty (okay, extremely) organised person. My diary is always up to date and I am always ready way in advance. But even I was taken by surprise when I realised that it was time to start packing our hospital bags. Honestly, the past 8 months have flown by – it seems like yesterday that I ran into the lounge waving the positive pregnancy test around like a total loon. Anyway, moving along swiftly before I get all emotional…

Quite a few of you indicated that you were really interested to see what was going into all the bags for when we head off to the hospital to have #babybooyens (or as she is now known, Hagrid, because of how huge she is/feels. Yes, we love Harry Potter.). I thought that the easiest way to do this would be in the form of a video, and so that’s exactly what I did! This is my first video so I might look a little awkward – it’s weird talking to yourself, but I’m sure you’ll get the point of what I’m trying to put across.

There are two things I forgot to mention in the video that will also go into the bag. The first one is 8 dark facecloths to use when changing her nappy, just in case her skin is too sensitive for wipes. Make sure that you pack dark facecloths and not white ones… I think the reason is faaaiiirrrllly obvious… The second is 2 bath towels to use after we bath her.

Because initially I found packing the bags quite overwhelming, I created a checklist for myself. And then I thought, “Hey, maybe other people would find this handy too.” And so I created some printable hospital checklists for you to download for yourself, a preggie friend or family member. There is one for a baby girl, one for a baby boy, and one that is gender neutral if you’ve chosen not to find out the gender of your baby.

I will be putting up part two in two or three weeks and that will show you what I have packed for myself and Dan. And let me tell you, there are some seriously sexy things that go into those bags…not!

I hope that you enjoyed this video and that along with the checklists, it helps you!

So funny watching this video, as it’s made me think back to packing my own bag and what I’d leave behind/ take with. Always so fascinating to see what others have in their baby bags! Can’t wait to see the second vid 🙂
