I recently received a Cricut Joy Xtra (you can see my unboxing and first creation here) and I’ve been loving using it for all sorts of little crafts around the house.

I’m definitely still learning but I thought that I would start sharing what I create because if I can get it right, you absolutely can as well! Today I’m sharing the Cricut mirror affirmations that I did for the girls bedroom.

Like most children (I think), my girls thrive on affirmations and so with school starting this week, I wanted to add a special touch to their mirror for when they are getting dressed and doing their hair.

This project took me literally 10 minutes and the girls were thrilled with it!

Cricut mirror affirmations

Supplies:

• Cricut machine (I have the Joy Xtra)
• Removable Vinyl in a colour of your choice
• Transfer paper
• Weeding tool
• Scraper (or similar)

Method:

I saved my design over here on Cricut Design Space and you can edit it to suit your needs, just make sure that you make sure you change the size to fit your Cricut machine.

1. Once you’re happy with your design, load your machine with your removable vinyl and then select “removable vinyl” as the material you’re printing with.

2. Hit go and your machine can do all the hard work for you.

3. Once you take your cut designs off the machine, you can start weeding away all the bits that you don’t need. After that, take your transfer tape and transfer your design from the vinyl backing to the transfer tape. I found it easier to do this section by section, word by word.

4. You can now place them onto your mirror. Make sure you’ve wiped it clean and it is completely dry before applying your vinyl. To make sure that it’s really stuck down well, I used my scraper to smooth it down before removing the transfer tape.

5. Remove the transfer tape and you’re done!

Honestly so beyond quick and easy and it’s such a lovely message for the girls to look at every morning.
