Oh hey, it’s my birthday! Well, in 20 days it is… plus my wedding anniversary and Mother’s Day has just been and gone too. Poor Dan and his bank account have a rough time in May. Anyway, I haven’t done a wishlist post in a little while and I thought this would be a pretty good time to throw one out there, so here we go…
It has been getting super chilly here in Jozi and I am in dire need of some new slippers (my current ones are 3 years old!) and pajamas. Good ol’ Woolies have these really cozy looking ones (R190), I might actually need them in both grey and beige. If you haven’t seen they loveliness that is Anna-Louise Sleepwear, then you need to hop onto their site, pronto! The palm prints are really fun and I wouldn’t mind the green one but I really want a long set set in “Dobby White” (R500) with my initials embroided on the pocket. Practical and sentimental!I am a huge Lauren Conrad fan – her books, her website, her clothing line, her hair (oh my, that hair!), everything she does really appeals to me and so when she announced she was releasing a new book, my heart skipped a beat. It’s called Celebrate (R413 from Takealot) and is her essential guide to entertaining.
While we are on the topic of domestic goddess-ness, I am on a mission to replace some things in and around our home since the move. First on the list are coffee mugs. I love these ones from Sugar and Vice (R200 each) as well as these protea ones from Woolworths (R65 each). I am dying for new cushion covers for the lounge and when I saw these ones from H&M (R129 each) my heart screamed “YES!”. Our house is mostly earthy colours and so I think that the green would add a nice pop of colour without looking too garish. I finally have my study back, hoorah! It’s very light and airy and so my plan is to bring a little bit of the outdoors, indoors and these hanging soft pots from Zana (R450 each) would work beautifully.
I can’t quite remember how a travel size of the Clinique High Impact Mascara (R275 from Red Square) landed in my life but now that it’s finished, I am a sad panda. This is probably one of the only mascaras I don’t need to layer on because one coat gives my lashes that much oomph. It’s blacker than black, doesn’t clump and lengthens my lashes beautifully.
I’ve been watching a lot of Fleur De Force YouTube videos recently and have scribbled down some of the products that she raved about. Three of them are the L’Oreal Colour Riche Exclusive Lipstick in Pink 21 Naomi (R149.95 from Dishchem), a beautiful dusty pink; the Clarins Hydraquench Masque (R480 from Red Square) to get me through the next few dry Jozi months and the L’Oreal Lumi Magique foundation (R199 from Dischem). What’s a birthday without some new bath time treats? The Soil Uplifting Coconut Bath Oil (R220 for 350ml) had me at the word “coconut”! By now you all know that I’m addicted to body scrubs and so obviously I need to get my hands on Rub Rub Rub from LUSH (R185 for 330g), it’s mineral rich and wont clog your plug hole because the granules dissolve, yay!
Last but not least is the Lulu and Marula Purifying Clay Mask (R360). Last week I ordered a few goodies from Lulu and Marula online and well, I am hooked. The products smell incredible and my skin laps up their goodness. I’ve been getting a few breakouts along my jaw line (pesky hormones at work again) and I’m pretty sure that this mask will sort that nonsense out chop chop.
And that brings us to the end of another wishlist post. What are you currently lusting after?
Such great choices! Yay for almost birthday time! x
