Life lately, plus my favourite piece from Annapatat Kids, ever!

Is it just me or is this year moving at morph speed? I literally cannot believe that it’s Easter this weekend and that Aria turns TWO on Thursday – how can it be?! I haven’t done a “life lately” post for ages, plus I have been dying to show you my favourite piece that Annapatat Kids have come out with, as well as some gorgeous goodies from their A/W line. Basically, there’s a lot going on in this post, so go grab your coffee and get comfortable!

Currently renovating: Yup, we are STILL busy painting the inside of the house, but we only have the rooms left now. Last week we painted all the door frames and skirtings, so this week we need to tacklle the walls. There are just so many of them. And we have high ceilings. But once it’s done, it will make such a huge difference and I can’t wait! After that, we need to get cracking on both the main bedroom and Aria’s new bedroom floors; we’ve ripped the carpets out of both and so now they need to be sanded down and sealed.

In terms of smaller DIY, I have been itching to revamp that old and broken chip board side table that I showed you ages ago on my Instagram Stories. I just haven’t gotten around to it… hopefully this month I’ll pull myself towards myself and get it done!

Currently watching: We are huge fans of The Office and have been re-watching it over the past few weeks. We’re on the last season now and flip, I get so emotional watching Pam and Jim’s struggle, because I can totally relate! Those rough patches in your marriage/relationship are so difficult and almost soul destroying in the moment. Dan and I have never pretended to have the perfect marriage, and I have always tried really hard to be honest over here on the blog about just that; I think so often we glance over how much work actually goes into a committed relationship (regardless of whether you have kids or not) and sometimes it’s good to be reminded that you aren’t the only one facing a bit of an uphill battle at the moment.

Currently wearing: This is more for Aria than me, I wear my Old Navy jeans and Superga’s day in and day out. I have been absolutely obsessed with this jumpsuit from Annapatat. It is so incredibly practical, especially in this unpredictable weather that we are having in Joburg at the moment. For the warmer days, I let Aria wear it as it is, with a pair of sandals (although usually without), and if it gets a little more chilly, I pop a long sleeve t shirt underneath. Unfortunately it has completely sold out, as all great items do but I am crossing fingers and holding thumbs that Annapatat stocks them again next season. Even though the jumpsuits are all sold out, there are still some absolutely gorgeous cozy items still available. My absolute favourites are the bear coat (I love the bunny one but practicality wise, I think the bear one is a better colour for a messy toddler), the grey turban and the gold bloomer set. If you’re keen to do some shopping, just head on over to the Annapatat site, and if you want some extra money to spend, make sure to read to the end of this post!

Currently testing: I’m always slapping something new on my face, but one thing that I have really been impressed with was the Dermaquest Power Pumpkin peel that I had done at The New You last week. Keeping in mind that this was only one peel and generally you have a course of 6-8, the results that I saw really impressed me. The congestion around my jawline reduced dramatically and my skin looked so much healthier and nowhere as near as lack luster as it was. If you can get yourself to one of The New You branches, do yourself a favour and book for a Dermaquest Power Pumpkin peel.

I’ve also been absolutely obsessed with my CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Blush. I have been using the shade Teasing Pink and it is absolute perfection. I don’t want to give away too much as I have a full review coming soon, but the next time you see a selfie, chances are that this will be my lip colour.
