Now that we are really in the thick of things, winter-wise, I’m sure that your skin is feeling the effects. I know mine certainly was until I received these three products in the mail. Wondering which winter products you need in your life? Keep on reading, and HOORAY, there’s a giveaway at the end of this post *celebration emoji*!
There are two things that really plague me skin and body wise during winter. The first is really dehydrated skin, which is made especially worse by living in Johannesburg, our air is incredibly dry. And the second is packing on a few pounds. Comfort food is my absolute favourite, and I do tend to go slightly overboard. What is it about eating yummy food that makes one feel happier in the cold weather?
Let’s chat about dehydrated skin first. In winter, my skin needs so much more attention, the first thing it does is go completely desert-like, followed by a whole lot of dullness setting in and then last but not least, the texture takes a nose dive. It is not a pretty sight and so I really have to make a special effort during these chilly months to keep my skin hydrated and nourished. Two products that have been really helping are from Juliette Armand. If you’ve been following me for a while then you will know that I am a huge fan of the DNA Repair range, the serum is one of the best I have used, especially when it comes to improving texture.

The first product that I have been using religiously every single night is the Derma Heal Cream from the Skin Boosters range. This moisturiser is for those that suffer from dry or dehydrated skins, and also for those who have sensitivity due to the elements. It really intensifies the cell turnover in the skin, helping to create a uniform texture and give the skins natural defense a boost.
I expected the Derma Heal Cream to feel very heavy on my skin, but surprisingly it didn’t at all, it sunk in really nicely and my skin felt really soothed and refreshed. One of the things that I love about this product is how my skin looks in the morning – its all plumped up and it feels incredibly soft. Of course, this gets better as you continuously use the cream but I can honestly say that my skin felt better after three uses, and now after using it for a good month, I can see the difference in the texture, my dry patches are pretty much gone and I have much fewer dehydration lines.

Hands up, who has tired looking skin? This mask will become your new best friend. The Vitality Cream Mask from Juliette Armand has a whole lot of Spirulina in it to revitalise your tired and dull skin, making it look as good as new. It is also fantastic to hydrate and nourish parched skin. Want to know the best thing about this mask? You don’t have to remove it! Yip, it’s a leave on mask, so now you really don’t have an excuse not to mask twice a week. I pop it on at night before I get into bed, it sinks in wonderfully so you don’t look too scary to wake up next to, and in the morning, it’s completely gone and your skin looks and feels phenomenal!
The third product is from Mio, who by the way, make an amazing pregnancy face wash that I still use. Anyway, back to the product in question today.

Mio Get Waisted is a product that I have used before and I am happy to say that I still love it after using it for the second time. Although this product will not make you magically drop the pounds, it helps to bring back your curves, and streamlines your body’s silhouette. Now, I don’t know about you, but all self control goes out of the window when winter rolls around. I will eat a chocolate every night and have carbs with every meal. This year I have tried to be a more conscious and although it hasn’t gone 100% according to plan, using Get Waisted every night has helped to minimise the damage. I enjoy the tingling sensation that crops up a few minutes after applying it, I like to think it’s all my fat cells getting zapped, ha!

I’m excited about both products but mostly the skin products! My skin has taken such a beating this winter and it’s even left my eyelids flaky! The skin on the eyes are probably the most difficult to treat because they are so thin and sensitive. I’d really appreciate the extra help!
Liked both pages. Would love to try the “get waisted”. Currently pregnant and it being winter, not a good combo. So would be great for afterwards.

The Juliette Armand Vitality Cream Mask! Ooh la la! This 30 something mum has noticed that her skin has become dry & scaly during winter. As well as being sensitive( could things get any worse). I know that this holy grail mask will nourish my dry skin & give me a glow that will make even J’Lo swoon. Please wave that magical wand won’t you?
