You all know I’m a big Dermalogica junkie, and so when Dermalogica announced the launch of the Daily Superfoliant, I was really excited. Not only to see what this new powder resurfacer was all about, but also to see how it differed from the Daily Microfoliant.
Inflammaging is the new “it” word in the beauty industry. It’s been one of the topics at pretty much every launch and presentation I’ve been to in the last few weeks. Basically what inflammaging is, is the effect that our environmental factors, the biggest being pollution, have on our skin. These factors damage the protective layer in our skin which results in our skin becoming sensitive and dehydrated. in fact, it can go so far as to cause hyper pigmentation and acne. Over and above all of that, damaging external factors also cause our fibroblast cells to slowly stop producing collagen and elastin, making us age prematurely. A pretty depressing story, especially since it’s virtually impossible for us to escape pollution.
Dermalogica recognised this problem and that’s when they began to develop the Daily Superfoliant; a powder resurfacer that aims to detoxify your skin and maximise your skin health.
You use it in the same way that you would use the Daily Microfoliant; by pouring a small amount of the powder in your hand and adding a few drops of water. The difference though is when you mix it, the Superfoliant foams up, which I really love. It feels lovely and light on your skin, and even though one of it’s main ingrediants is charcoal (to detoxify), it doesn’t have an off putting smell at all. The Superfoliant is also packed with lactic and malic acid so it’s great for an oily skin.
I like to use this product every second day and have been doing so for about three weeks now. My skin feels absolutely incredible: soft, smooth and it looks a lot more radiant, if I do say so myself!
These are the main differences between the Daily Microfoliant and the Daily Superfoliant:
- Daily Microfoliant: A skin polish that is used to brighten the skin
- Daily Superfoliant: A powder resurfacer that detoxes skin that has been exposed to pollution.

I was so excited to hear about this launch. I have been a devoted user of the Daily Microfoliant for years and would love to try the Superfoliant.
My skin has been looking awful lately and I seriously need some extra glow.
