Remember those days when you swore your child wouldn’t wear any character clothing? Oh how I laugh now! As much as I love a very toned-down look personally, my girls love bright, colourful and LOUD so I can’t help but oblige with a few specific pieces in their wardrobe. After all, they are the ones that are going to be wearing the clothes, plus we’re pretty much at the point where they choose their own outfits.
Luckily the new Barbie range at Ackermans is a happy medium between our tastes and bonus, it’s affordable! Aria and Maia were treated to a few items a few weeks ago (I gave you a sneak peek over here) but today in this blog post, I’ll be showing them to you in all of their glory. I’ve linked the items where I can because Ackermans now has a click and collect option, hooray! One step closer to online shopping.

First up is this super cute combo of paperbag shorts and little body suit. I was super hesitant about the body suit in terms of going to the loo but to be honest Ari just treated it like a swimming cossie so no problems at all there . The shorts are too sweet and very much my more muted sense of style, but the orange gives them a great pop of colour. The belt is detachable as well which is great, in fact my girls are actually going to wear these shorts for their school photo day this week.

The second outfit are these cute little magenta Barbie dresses, the girls absolutely adore them and want to wear them to school every day at the moment. They’re a great length and are a perfect “wash and wear” option for during the week. The handkerchief hemline makes them ideal for twirling in as well, always a bonus for Ari and Mims.
Last but certainly not least is this classic Barbie tee and another pair of paperbag shorts (clearly I’m having a moment with this style).
Bright and fun; we love this purple tee. The gold glitter text is obviously a huge hit with the girls and we love the animal print elements, obvs. The shorts aren’t part of the Barbie collection but I couldn’t help myself when I saw the little embroidered rainbow – can you blame me?!
Of course these aren’t the only Barbie options out of this collaboration, there are so many more (you can see some of them over here), even shoes! You really could go wild with your kiddo!
So, which item do you think your child will be adding to your shopping list? I know Aria is eyeing out a pair of Barbie sandles…
