I haven’t done a wish list for quite a long time. And really, is there anything that we do better than obsess about all the things we are dying to get our hands on? Nope, and so without further ado, here’s my current “I need this” list.
First up are two eyeshadow palettes that basically, look perfect. The Stila Eyes Are The Window – Soul palette has all the taupe-y shades that I tend to gravitate towards, some matte, some more shimmery. I reckon you could create a really stunning smokey with this golden square of fabulosity. The second palette is the MAC Amber Times Nine palette. These are more pink and purple tones which I love to create a very soft look for during the day. Can we just have a moment for the gold tones though?!
No lust list would be complete without a few goodies from LUSH, obviously! They’ve also just opened a brand new store super close to where I live. Coincidence? I think not! I was ridiculously excited to hear (thanks Nix!) that The Comforter shower gel is now available in South Africa. Bergamot and blackcurrent are two of the main ingredients in this super hyped up shower cream that LUSH describes it as a cuddle in a bottle. Need I say more? Dream Cream is one of the best selling products from LUSH that I have been meaning to try. So what if I have about 2374 other body creams sitting around, I need this one too! During summer I am usually attacked by mosquitos and I can get yuck rashes from heat pretty easily – the chamomile and lavender in Dream Cream sound like they will sort out the itchy, red patches quickly.
I love juicing! When I have a fresh pressed juice in the morning, I don’t mourn the cup of coffee I used to have religiously quite as much. I’ve become so slack though because, well, my juicer is ancient! And I’m talking like 15 years old ancient. My mom bought it to make my dad about a thousand glasses of carrot and orange juice while he was undergoing radiation treatment for his cancer. So, it did and still does a good job, but it’s a mission and it’s messy. When I saw the Nutribullet, I knew it was the answer to my problems. This baby does it all! Smoothies, nut butters, milled grains, hell, I could make baby food with it when the time comes. But best of all? It will make a tenth of the mess that my current juicer does.
Because I don’t already have an overflowing drawer of them, here are two mascaras that have caught my eye. The Maybelline Lash Sensational is all about the full fan effect, their brush is even patented. It ensures each lash is coated and separated, giving you that va-va-voom you’re after. The second mascara that has sent my heart all a-flutter is the Lancome Hypnose Drama. It promises 600 times more volume, the POWERFULLTM brush works from root to tip layering on product that is laden in SoftSculptTM formula which is rich in vitamin B5.
Is there anything as fantastic as a new pair of pajamas? I stumbled upon Tous Les Jours on Instagram and immediately went onto their site- my oh my, I had to hide my credit card! I love the Lolly nightie – the crisp white is so beautiful and the cotton fabric is perfect for the Joburg heat. Plus it looks like it has some room for the growing bump! I made the mistake of having a peek at the baby goodies, I just couldn’t help myself. Oh my goodness, I fell in love with basically everything but two of my favourites are the Jemma dress with pink roses (if baby is a girl) and the grey leggings with white stars. Okay and I have to mention this cuter than cute beanie. Tous Les Jours also has skincare products as well as baby products, all reasonably priced, hooray!
H&M basically took over my Twitter feed this past weekend, as if I needed another reason to wish I was back in the Mother City. At least Jozi doesn’t have too long to wait until the cult store opens up here. All the clothing looked incredible but I was most intrigued by the homeware goodies. How awesome is this bronze metal storage basket? It looks swanky enough to keep in the lounge or to use in the bedroom. This scented candle caught my eye because of the fragrance, I love the smell of lilac! Is it odd that I love this cushion with the bug on so much? I don’t think so!
