I am an exfoliator queen. There is nothing that I love more than a freshly exfoliated skin – it just looks and feels so healthy and beautiful, plus I know that anything that gets plopped on afterwards is going to be so much more effective than it would have been before exfoliation. But let’s be honest, it can be a bit of a schlep. That’s why I was so excited when I spotted these Glycolic Fix Pads from Nip+Fab.
The minute I saw that it contains not only glycolic acid, but also hyaluronic acid, I knew that it had to come home with me. I mean, those are pretty powerful ingredients to say the least! Glycolic acid is a super exfoliator, but because the concentration isn’t crazy high (2.8% per pad), it doesn’t burn the skin, it gently removes the layer of dead skin cells while brightening at the same time. Let’s not kid around, all of our skins could use some help in the brightening department during winter! Hyaluronic acid is hydrator supreme! It can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. Now as someone who suffers from dehydration, this is music to my ears. There was a third ingredient though that I wasn’t expecting and that was daisy. Sounds cute doesn’t it: “my exfoliator has daisy in it”. This is for all you sensitive skins out there – daisy soothes and calms the skin. And I have to say, my skin is never red after using this product and I am known to have a reactive skin.

Ok, I’ve given my blurb on what this product is supposed to do but is it worth the R265 (from Clicks) that it retails for? Yes! But only for certain skins. This exfoliator is perfect as a maintenance product. It’s not for someone who has a very specific concern (e.g. acne or pigmentation) that needs correction. I especially would not use it on an acne skin as you could cause cross contamination. The Glycolic Fix Pads are the ideal product for a person who wants to make sure that their skin is effectively exfoliated to keep it looking healthy and hydrated. I love that it’s so quick and easy to use. There are 60 pads in a tub and they are all already soaked in the powerhouse formulation so all you need to do is wipe the pad over your face as well as neck. I have been doing this every night for the past two weeks and have really noticed that my skin isn’t as dull as it was last year winter. It also feels quite a bit more supple. The key though is to make sure that you follow your exfoliation with a moisturiser or even better, a serum first and then a moisturiser. If you have sensitive I would start out by using a pad once every two days and build up to using a pad once or twice a day.
I will be going more into detail about exfoliators soon so watch out for that, but in the meantime you can learn more about cleansing: different methods, different types and some product recommendations over here.
There are quite a few other exciting products from Nip+Fab that I am dying to get my hands on like the Bee Sting Eye Fix which is said to plump up and lift the eye area (pleeeaaaaase be true!) and the Viper Venom Wrinkle Fix that has wrinkle blurring technology, sounds interesting! This is definitely a brand to keep your eye on, I for one definitely will be.
