I don’t know about you, but after a day of “momming”, the one thing that I look forward to in the evening is my bath. Dan knows that unless someone is on the brink of death, do not open the door! Taking an hour (sometimes two) each night really helps me to end the day on a good note, and carving out some time for myself does the world of good.
Recently I’ve added some Mama Mio products into my routine which have been such a pleasure. Some of them are brand new to me and some I’ve used before, but I’ve been enjoying each and every one! I’m going to chat through each of these Mama Mio products and then there might be a little something in it for you at the end of this post so make sure to read all the way to the end…
If you are new to Mama Mio, let me give you a quick run down. Mama Mio was started in 2004 and was one of the first brands to focus exclusively on pregnancy skincare and concerns such as hormonal breakouts and of course, stretchmarks. Founded by 4 moms, they made sure that the products contained “no nasties” and to this day, the natural ingredients and wonderful formulas contain no parabens, petrolatum, colourants, xenoestrogens, PEGs and phthalates and are safe to use while pregnant and breastfeeding, hooray!
Let’s chat about the products that I have been using (I’ve linked all of the products):
Mama Mio Gorgeous Glow Balancing Facial Wash: I’ve used this lightly foaming facial wash quite a few times and I still love it! It contains a small percentage of lactic acid to help smooth and refine the skins texture, but is still gentle enough to use every day. With all the crazy hormones floating around while pregnant and breastfeeding (and long after as they take a while to settle), it’s often inevitable that we will suffer from breakouts, which is what the Mama Mio Gorgeous Glow Balancing Facial Wash aims to combat. I used this product during my pregnancy with Aria and Maia and I didn’t suffer from breakouts in either, it may just be good luck but I think using the Gorgeous Glow Facial Wash had a lot to do with it.
Mama Mio Pregnancy Boob Tube: When I saw this product, I could hear the angels starting to sing, I knew that it would become one of my top shelf products post pregnancy. Like quite a few women, my boobs do not enjoy the first few weeks (okay, months) of breastfeeding. They get sore, heavy and just really tired of stretching and then shrinking all day, every day. It’s not that I’m in excruciating pain, but it can get a little uncomfortable. Pregnancy Boob Tube has an amazing cooling effect which was pure heaven when my milk came in initially and the shea butter helps to keep the girls moisturised.
Mama Mio Keep Calm Nipple Balm: Don’t you just love the name of this product?! But really, when you have sensitive, dry, sore nipples; it’s difficult to keep your cool. The Keep Calm Nipple Balm contains natural lanolin to soothe the chapped and dry skin, as well as coconut oil to pack back some omega’s and moisture. I keep this nipple balm in my nappy bag for on the go (it’s a great lip balm too by the way) so I haven’t used it as much as I would like, but when I have, it’s been great especially because you don’t need to remove it before you feed your baby.
Mio Skin Tight Body Serum: Look, I’m in no hurry to “bounce back” or “get my body back” (not that it went anywhere), but if I can slap on a product to gently help my body on it’s way, then I’m all for it. The Mio Skin Tight Body Serum specifically targets areas of the body that are lacking a bit of tone and look a bit crepey. For women who have just had babies, this is usually the tummy, but it can also be used on the backs of your arms and thighs. Basically anywhere where you’d like to improve the appearance of the skin. Skin Tight not only smooths out and tightens the skin, it also brightens it thanks to papaya enzymes. This body serum, as Mio says, will take your skin from wrinkly raisin to juicy grape. I haven’t started to use it just yet, I’m going for my 6 week check up next week, and once I get the all clear you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be using this day and night… on my entire body!
Mio Liquid Yoga: What an absolute cult product. When I was pregnant and full of aches and pains towards the end, I would add some of this to my bath (making sure that the water wasn’t super hot) and just soak away the day. It helped so much with my tired muscles, but it also got my mind ready for a good sleep, which is hard to come by when you’re what feels like, 69385 months pregnant. The essential oil blend of Mentha Arvensis Leaf Oil, Citrus Lemon Peel Oil, Cypress Leaf Oil and Lavender is incredible and makes your entire bathroom smell like a spa and honestly it just made me feel so calm and at ease, even though I had been chasing after a toddler all day. Well worth treating yourself to a bottle of this.

The Pregnancy Boob Tube
I think the nipple cream and pregnancy boob tube look like fantastic products. I’m 32 weeks pregnant and the pregnancy boob tube seems like something I would constantly use. Amazing products❤
Currently pregnant and would love to try the tummy butter to avoid any stretch marks.. All the products sound amazing and I am sure the nipple balm will be high on my wishlist in a few weeks.
The first trimester butter bundle sounds amazing. I mean it’s all put together for you facing the new changes in your skin.
I would LOVE to try the Gorgeous Glow Cleanser! Since my 2nd baby (7months old) I’m battling with some hormonal acne. ??♀️
