Healthy Snacks Your Kids Will Love, with Faithful To Nature

Is there anything worse than your child whining, “I’m huuuungry!”? Probably not. And although Aria can’t utter those words just yet, the girl can get HANGRY, and boy does she let me know about it! Well today I’m going to help you out by showing you three quick healthy snacks your kids will love and that you can whip up in no time at all.

Today’s post is in collaboration with Faithful to Nature. Founded in 2007, this organic online store’s aim is to help you lead a less toxic life and to be a kinder to the earth. Everything that they retail has been scrutinized to ensure that they deliver only the best products. I love that they also disclose the full list of ingredients for their food items – an absolute must if you or someone in your family has food allergies. I can spend hours browsing their website, from all of their beauty brands, to their huge variety of food products and even kids toys! 90% of the ingredients in the recipes I am going to share are from Faithful To Nature (they very kindly sent me a gift voucher) and I will link them all to make life easier for you. Make sure that you read all the way to the end for an exciting giveaway!

Yummy Oat Balls

This recipe makes a decent amount and they keep in the fridge for a good week or you can freeze them and defrost as you need.

200g rolled oats

300g mashed ripe banana

Quarter cup honey (you can also use stevia)

Two thirds cup water

2 and a half tablespoons natural peanut butter

Quarter cup cocoa powder

Chocolate chips/desiccated coconut/raisins/crushed almonds

Set your oven to 180 degrees Celsius and line a cupcake tray with cupcake holders.

Throw all of the ingredients into your blender and pulse until it’s all combined.

Divide the mixture between the cupcake holders.

Bake for 21 minutes. Once done, leave the oven door closed for another 10 minutes.

Simple as that!

Breakfast smoothie

I was so surprised at the rate that Aria wolfed this down! This is a great breakfast for on-the-go or as a mid-afternoon snack, it really does hit that hunger pang.

1 banana

1 tablespoon natural peanut butter

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 tablespoon honey

Quarter cup rolled oats

200ml almond milk (you can also use rice milk or regular milk if you prefer)

Put everything into your blender and hit that power button!

Pour into a glass, pop in a straw and enjoy.

I like to vary mine by using chocolate flavored almond milk every now and again. A great way to sneak in some greens is to add a scoop of this superfood powder, your kids won’t even notice!

Date Snack Bars

Okay, I’m slightly obsessed with them. I have such a sweet tooth and these really hit the spot, without the guilt. I make a batch and then keep them in the fridge and before I know it, they’re all gone and it’s time to make some more.

15 pitted dates

3 tablespoons natural peanut butter

Quarter cup crushed almonds

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

2 tablespoons chia seeds

Blend all of the ingredients together until combined.

Line a baking tray with some wax paper.

Scoop the mixture onto the wax paper and press it out (not too thin).

Pop this into the fridge for a good hour, overnight is best though.

Once they have set, you can cut them into any shape you want.

When I was on my Faithful To Nature shopping spree, I also added these snack bars and these coconut chips to my cart. They have been so great to keep in my nappy bag for when we are out and about. Definitely try them!
