Thalgo’s 10 day detox – Ocea Draine

Happy Saturday everyone!
A few days ago (Thursday to be exact) I finished my 10-day detox with Thalgo’s Ocea Draine. I promised to do a little write-up afterward and so here it is…

Before I go into detail about my detox, I think it’s a good idea to briefly explain what Thalgo is all about.
Thalgo is a French brand, based on marine algae and thalassotherapy (therapy with seawater).

Their products, which range from skincare to supplements are marine algae rich which means they are jam-packed full of vital and powerful minerals and active ingredients. The products are also paraben free and contain no mineral oils or genetically modified organisms. I’m already a huge fan of their Collagen Eye Roll-On and so I was really excited to try out Ocea Draine!

I decided to test out Ocea Draine at the beginning of this year as my body was feeling a bit bleh after all the overindulging (drinking wine and eating chocolate) during the festive season.

It’s full of brown algae and this aids your body with the elimination of toxins or “dirty water”. You may feel detox symptoms until about day 4: headaches, cravings and slight nausea.

How to Take It

What I loved about this product is that you don’t need to go on a crazy, only leafy greens kind of diet. No, you just need to eat healthily and get yourself moving a little bit with some light exercise. So, go on a little walk every evening and limit your intake of red meat, carbs, caffeine and alcohol while upping your veggies (be careful of fruit as it contains a lot of sugar), and most importantly drink your water!

Here’s a suggestion of what I had on a typical day:
Breakfast: a slice of rye toast with marmite (if I have time before running out the house)
Snack: carrot and cucumber sticks
Lunch: tuna/chicken salad (I add rosa tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, peppers, feta and a tiny bit of mayo)
Snack: a small tub of yogurt
Dinner: chicken/fish (grilled or baked) with veggies
2 liters water

You take your Ocea Draine every morning 15min after waking up and before eating or drinking anything. You open up the vial on both sides and dilute it with a tiny bit of water.
It doesn’t taste bad at all – a very dull citrus flavor.

My Result

My skin is definitely clearer, it also doesn’t look as dull. I feel, for lack of a better word, lighter and not so heavy and sluggish. I dropped 2kg, but remember that this is only water weight.

What’s great is that I’m now in the habit of doing some exercise daily, something that I’m happy to keep up. I got over my coffee addiction – I no longer need 5 cups a day. Overall, I just feel healthier. I now have more of a platform to build a healthy lifestyle on.

Ocea Draine really surpassed all of my expectations. So much so that today I started on the next part of their slimming range called Slim 7, so watch out for a review on that in the next few weeks!
