It’s taken me a while to jump onto the Sorbet band wagon. I’ve always had bad service from the branches I’ve been to. But their new skincare and body collections were being dangled in front of me like a carrot in front of a donkey and so I bit the bullet and went in store to buy one or two (or three) things.
The a Hydro range really grabbed me as it is aimed at dehydrated and dull skins. Hyaluronic acid pulls water into the deep layers of the skin to improve hydration levels while omegas 3 and 6 as well as vitamins A and E improve the skins texture and help restore the lipid barrier (the barrier in the skin that protects it) to desensitise irritated skin. As a result, your skin should feel soft, hydrated and have a healthy glow.
I chose to test the 3 in 1 Foam Cleanser from this range. It promises to:
1. Cleanse
2. Effectively remove make up
3. Balance skin
I have to say I’m really impressed! I am one of those girls that doesn’t bother with the eye make up remover if my cleanser can do it, and it did! There was no make up left after cleansing – not even those awful raccoon eyes. My skin felt squeaky clean but not tight at all, in fact it felt healthy.
I used about 4 pumps each time and that was more than enough to cover my entire face as well as my neck.
For R90 this cleanser is an absolute win!
I love body scrubs and exfoliations – the more coarse the better. And so I was really excited to try the Renew Salt Polisher from the Spa Escape range.
As the name states, it’s a salt scrub which means it’s not an airy fairy scrub, no, this baby is definitely going to get rid of those dead skin cells! It also contains seaweed which is great for detoxing. It has a very marine like smell which I actually really enjoyed – it’s a nice change from your normal vanilla or lavender. I like a very cheels, knees, elbows.
My skin was so soft after using this product, R45 well spent!oarse exfoliation so I used my polish on dry skin and then hopped in the shower to rinse it off, but that’s not for everyone. Normally you would use it in the bath or shower – remember to concentrate on those typically dry areas:
The third product I bought was the Breathe Easy Bath Salts from the Sleep Rescue range. I bought this purely for fun as it was only R38. The bath salts are infused with an aromatherapy blend of lavender, valerian and chamomile to help calm the body and mind before hopping into bed.
Now I don’t know if this actually helped calm this crazy mind but it has a lovely scent so no complaints here!
All in all I was pleasantly surprised at Sorbets new ranges. I don’t know if it’s enough to send me back into one of their treatment rooms but it’s definitely enough to send me back to their retail counters. These ranges are proof that you don’t need to spend a small fortune to have healthy skin.
Have you tried any of these products or other products from Sorbets new collections? What did you think?
