Well this post is only about two weeks overdue, but better late than never right? My April goals are pretty short and sweet just like the previous months. When I started doing these monthly goals I thought that the posts would be miles long with really admirable and interesting targets. Turns out that that’s not the case; my monthly goals are slightly more mundane but I think that they are also things that most of us strive towards. There might be something slightly more challenging that I strive towards every now and then, like run a 5k (okay, that will never happen), but I quite like my simple goals and I hope that you do too. But enough with the blabbering, let’s chat about my April goals.
Sort out the spare room cupboards. It’s been a long time coming, but Aria should be moving from the room she’s currently in, to her big girl room this month, even if the floors aren’t 100% perfect yet. The only problem is that the cupboards are filled with… well who knows what. It’s basically our junk room where we put everything that doesn’t really have a place. Suffice to say that I need to get in there and tackle all of those shelves to make space for Arias’s stuff. I’ll need a lot of coffee, and probably a lot of wine to get through it all so wish me luck.
Take time off social media: I’m sure you’ve seen me complaining about our severe lack of internet for the past week and counting. To say it’s been frustrating is an understatement but the one positive that has come from it is that I have been forced to take time off of social media for long periods of time every single day. This means that I have tons more time available to be productive and actually get things done. It’s also done a world of good for my mental state, I have found that I haven’t been comparing my life to others as much and it’s made me appreciate what I do have so much more. I don’t think I’ll stay offline as much as I have been when our internet line does get fixed (and who knows how long that will take), but I will try to make a concerted effort to take one or two hours and make them completely tech free.
Start to plan our family getaway: we haven’t taken a family break this year yet and we definitely need it! I promised Dan at the beginning of the year that we could go camping…but I’m not sure if I want to sleep in a tent in the ice cold Highveld winter so that might need to wait for the last quarter of the year. We’re still playing around with ideas, but hopefully we will be able to squeeze in a week away for the three of us and one or two weekends away for Dan and I.
See, short and sweet goals!
I really enjoy putting together this next part of the blog post, because even if it’s been a trying month, looking back and finding all the highlights really puts a smile on my dial. March was a really, really busy month but that means that there were also some amazing highlights:
Our girl’s trip to Brahman Hills was so much fun and something that I would suggest everyone does with their friends.
Aria turned two years old at the end of the month and it was so much fun celebrating with her, especially because she understood a little bit more this year. We opened presents in the morning, took her to a little petting zoo just before lunch and then had family over for coffee and cake in the afternoon. Her dinosaur party was this past weekend and I’ll have a post going up on that this week still, keep an eye out.
The first Mama Meet Up of the year was finally announced! There has been so much work going on behind the scenes; we knew exactly what we wanted to do and how we wanted to get it done. There were definitely some bumps in the road but I am so excited for everything to roll out and to tell you about the next events as they come together. Thank you all so much for your support so far and if you have any idea some meet ups you would love to attend, let me know in the comments!
We had a lot of family visits in March and it was great. We managed to see all of my grandparents and it was just really special for them to spend some quality time with Aria.
The #LoveMoreZA campaign was launched and we were lucky enough to be part of it. This is such an amazing initiative by Mayalief; encouraging us to be more mindful of how we treat each other and to practice kindness as much as we can. They have produced some gorgeous garments and La Fede has also created some lovely plushies that are associated with values, as well.
And that’s a wrap on this months goals and highlights! There are some fun things happening in April so hopefully it’s going to be a cracker of a month! What are you looking forward to the most this month? Let me know in the comment
Well doen for your March goals, and good luck for April!! I need to get back on the goal train x
Thanks Cals, now lets see if I get them all done, haha!
