Midori Eco Salon

Good morning lovelies!
I know it’s Monday and you might be a little down in the dumps, but do not fear, I have something that is going to brighten your Monday up!
I have mentioned them before (here) and I said that I would be returning, and I did, and it was INCREDIBLE! Here are my thoughts on Midori Eco Salon.

A few weeks ago I was there for a quick blow dry by the incredibly talented Chantal and when I left, I booked a bunch of treatments for this past Saturday one of which was threading.
Now, I have a little secret: my brows are so blonde that often I don’t get them shaped for months at a time (we’re talking like 6 months here people!) and so I was a little bit nervous to get them threaded – it seemed like it would be really painful. I was seriously considering keeping them wild and wooly and just pencilling in a beautiful shape. Turns out threading was a breeze! Much less painful than waxing in fact. Usually, after a wax, my skin is incredibly red and I get a slight breakout on the area. With threading, after about 10 minutes my skin was back to normal and I can say without a doubt that I have no breakouts on the area today. I am 100% a convert now – threading just seems a lot less harsh on my skin and the shape of my brows is a lot more defined than it ever was with waxing.
Next up, highlights! I’m naturally very blonde but one day I felt spontaneous and decided to go a very dark brown. I loved it, but because my hair grows so quickly, the maintenance was way too much work for me. And so began the process of highlighting out the dark colour. Saturday was my second set of highlights and I’m practically back to my natural colour – I’m so chuffed! Chantal did such an amazing job – the blonde isn’t yellow or brassy, it’s just right. She used a lovely calming shampoo and conditioner when rinsing out the colour as my scalp is very sensitive – what a difference that made – no itching or burning for the first time!
Once again, her blow dry was perfection and I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks!
If you live in Jozi you should definitely pop into Midori for a treatment. As I’ve mentioned before, they are completely green and eco friendly so really, you’re saving the planet while being pampered – why wouldn’t you go?!
